Happy New Year!
We have tons of new plans for the upcoming year including our trip to Kenya and Uganda in a few weeks.
Most recently, the Exchange tour has ended and it was a huge success. Check out some of the team’s other videos and blogs from the tour here. We have already started planning the tour for next year. Stay tuned for more details.

Hello again!
Hope your holiday was bright! Time to get back into the grind – which oddly enough is a pretty enjoyable thing after the whirlwind of Christmas. Only a few days until New Years, so we are prepping our to do lists, working over our goals, and getting ready to tackle some pretty amazing projects in the New Year!
We leave for Kenya in 20 days! I feel a whole new wave of excitement this morning, and I feel certain that this will be a very important time for the RETCo. team, collectively and individually.
Stay with us!

The girls finished the last leg of the Exchange Tour this week. It’s so great to see them come home safe and sound.
We cannot wait to show you all the places they’ve been. Stay tuned later this week for a recap of the tour.

This morning, I made my way to the Vanderbilt Travel Clinic where I received the last round of vaccinations for our trip to Kenya in January. The staff at RETCo. has been a a bit preoccupied this week with necessary preparations such as this. Excitement is building, our many deadlines and appointments keep us running, and our departure date will be here before you know it.
I’m one of the newer additions to the team and this will be my first trip to Africa, as well as Edwin’s and A.J.’s. I think the thing that keeps me awake most nights is simply the anticipation of meeting the RETCo. artists. I am honored to be able to work directly with these men and women. The most consistently overwhelming feelings I have about the work I do for this company are humility and gratitude. The awareness that I would be able to partner with these amazing, enterprising, compassionate people in their vision is truly an honor. I have so much to learn – the kind of lessons that can’t be taught in many other ways. Today, with a sore arm and a busy schedule…I couldn’t be happier!
Happy Friday!

P.S. The “Item of Note” today: the Isadora Necklace.
We had an event last week in New York and this was a top-selling item. This is one of those pieces that is truly stunning on everyone. Consider it for someone on your list this year – especially for those last few seemingly “difficult to buy for” entries- every list’s got ‘em!

Hey everyone, we are really excited about being part of the 4th Annual CREMA Christmas! This Saturday, December 10th from 2 to 6 PM, CREMA has invited us and a few local artisans to sell some great gifts at their shop. This year’s holiday will again focus on serving Nashville’s homeless community with 20% of proceeds from the event going to Safe Haven and People Loving Nashville. Last year, the event raised more than $2,000 for the local organizations.
So come join us in supporting our community and take the chance to purchase a unique gift with a story.
We’ll see you there!

Every Monday, the staff of RETCo. crowds into our small office and takes a couple of hours to dialogue about the upcoming week, projects or events. This very rainy Monday was spent in a similar manner, but today, we are joined by Kristin, a friend of ours from New York and an avid supporter of RETCo. who flew into Nashville this morning to give us a few pointers on our following year.
We are working hard to finalize our newest collection which we will be producing in Kenya in January. In the mean time, stay tuned for a behind the scenes video of our photo shoot last week, which will be posted on Wednesday!
Don’t forget to take advantage of the 25% off sale we are running right now. It’s always nice to conserve some cash this time of year!
Happy Monday!

Hello, my name is AJ Gibboney. I work with the media team at RETCo. I moved to Nashville about a year and half ago for filmmaking and I met the RETCo. group in December of 2010. I began volunteering my time by editing videos and soon became excited about the vision Travis and the team had to help and connect with these communities on the other side of the world. After several months of volunteering, we saw the great potential in using media to share the stories of the lives that are changed by supporting these artisans.
Our trip in January will focus on the collaboration between the artisans and our awesome designers, Evan and Katy. We will be showing how the jewelry pieces are conceived and designed, and how we get to work directly with the people that make them. I can’t wait to start sharing those stories with you. Stay tuned for lots of new features, stories and new products for the upcoming year!
